When I turned 22, my skin changed. I never had more than the occasional pimple, but once I hit 22 I began to have mild acne on my forehead and chin. No matter what I did, it never went away completely. I tried Proactiv+ 3 Step Acne Treatment System (30 Day), but it stained my pillowcases and towels. If that doesn’t bother you or you have white towels or pillow cases, Proactiv did help clear up my skin, but it didn’t take care of all my needs.
As I age, I want to start taking preemptive action preparing my skin for wrinkles and dark spots and all the fun stuff that comes with age. I started to look into a big girl skincare line and found Origins Skin Care. I love everything I’ve tried. My skin has never been clearer or more soft. Plus the products smell amazing.
I purchased the Origins Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash 150ml/5oz as my daily face wash. When it says it is frothy…it is frothy. The face wash smells like a spa. Washing my face is so relaxing. Plus, a little goes A LONG way. I don’t think I will be running out of it anytime soon. I’m thinking this should last me as least 6 months, maybe more. The Checks and Balances Face Wash retails for $22.00 (USD) on the Origins website or you can purchase it on Amazon for the same price – if you have amazon prime though, shipping is free.
My morning moisturizer is the Origins VitaZing(TM) SPF 15 Energy-Boosting Moisturizer with Mangosteen . I bought this because I struggle with waking up in the morning.
At first, I thought this would be a gimmick. However, I don’t know if the ingredients actually work or it is a placebo effect, but I feel more awake when I put this moisturizer on. For me, this is a game changer. PLUS, it is a tinted moisturizer WITH SPF 15! It evens out my skin tone enough that I don’t have to wear foundation. I just put on a little concealer where needed and no powder. This combination makes my face feel super light, but with the coverage I need. This retails for $37.00 (USD) on the Origins website. You can find it starting at $41.00 on Amazon, but again with Amazon Prime you might save money on shipping (unless Origins has a promotion).
My nighttime moisturizer is the High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral-Enriched Moisture Cream. Now, I got this as a free sample off the origins website and I’m so happy I did! It is not too heavy and not too light for a nighttime cream. I scab very easily and this makes those scabby areas smooth overnight while reducing any discoloration. Since it is packed with vitamins, like the name suggests, it gives my skincare routine an extra umph as I’m getting older. It retails for $43.00(USD) on the Origins website and $42.00 (USD) on Amazon.
My other two sample products are the Modern Friction exfoliating wash and the Dr. Weil Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Soothing Treatment Lotion.
Modern Friction was the first Origin product I ever tried and it made me want to try other products. The sample size lasted me about a month and at that time I was using it as my daily face wash. If you are unsure if you want to commit to the full size, get the sample size and try it out. There is enough product to see if it makes a difference in your skin. DO NOT GET THIS IN YOUR EYES. I made the mistake of trying to take my makeup off with this as I was washing my face in the shower and my eyes stung so badly! If you gently wash the product away you should have no problem. The smell is again, like a spa, but with an almost rosemary/lavenderish scent, which I love. My face feels like baby skin when I use this product. The price ranges for different sizes but you can get the travel size for $16.00 USD on Amazon or $20.00(USD) on the Origins website.
This last product at first confused me. It says it is a lotion, but it really is a toner. I put my Dr. Weil Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Soothing Treatment Lotion on before I put my moisturizer on with a cotton ball or pad. Make sure to get your problem areas good so it can work its magic. This retails for $33.00 (USD) on the Origins website. The large 6.7 oz bottle goes for more money on Amazon, but you can buy 3, 1 0z sample bottles for half the cost on Amazon. When buying, make sure you make the right choice for you.
I love this company. I will be repurchasing the Dr. Weil Lotion, the Night-A-Mins and Modern Friction once they run out. I have full size items of the VitaZing moisturizer and Checks and Balances face wash, so they should last me a long time. These skincare products are definitely worth the money. Origins skincare gets a 10/10 from me!
I hope this was helpful.
